End of story aftermath

Post by Chris Shaffer on Thu Apr 30, 2015 2:03 pm

Alright, so here's a little follow-up after the end of the Requiem story we recently concluded:

Derrick:
When you guys come out of the tunnels a couple of hours after going down there, your phone reconnects and there are a couple of messages for you. First, a voicemail from Frank apologizing and explaining he can't build the portable spirit-trapping device you want. He says that long-story short, he can't actually access enough of the Woodburn building's systems from the Society's office to do anything with an he'll have to find another way around that. There's also a text from Sonny: Contact me when you get this. You're gonna have someone get me to Columbus tomorrow night. The night after at the absolute earliest.
There will be another development: You'll almost certainly mistake it for an application of Auspex, but you'll find yourself spontaneously sensing the goals, wants, and ambitions of others. Almost as if you can see the intended path of their destiny. But also, occasionally, you'll notice out of the corner of your eye that your shadow takes strange shapes. Sometimes it looks like you have a short beak, or a feathered cloak coming off your shoulders. When you use Obtenebration, random wisps of shadow sometimes come of your shrouds and such that look like feathers blowing away in the breeze.

Matthew:
Howard Sugihara, the vampire who worked with Mike Prescott, is going to get in touch with you to discuss the subject of religion. Long story short, you've got a convert.

Humfrey:
Once word gets back to Charleston that the Strix is dealt with, you'll be given the task of making sure that the town achieves a state of stability, and to keep reporting in. Especially if you tell them what Derrick did to the Strix. Especially.

Oh, an addendum to that post. The next day, the werewolves will get back to Derrick about having a meeting. Unless Zac really wants to play it out, the werewolves will present two options for the meeting: Either the two leaders (Derrick and Jenna Collins, the pack's alpha) are alone in a room and everyone else hangs out in the club, or everyone (Derrick and the vampires he's seen to regularly associate with, and the entire pack) are all in one room.

Jenna will simply lay it out: She's not personally fond of vampires. But her primary focus is trying to keep downtown safe. As long as the vampires are willing to keep from actively making things worse, there won't be any problems. As long as people don't feel like they have to fear for their lives just by going down there, things will be fine. As long as nobody's trying to enslave the employees and regulars of all of the clubs with drugs or similar mystical substances, things are going to be fine. (They'll basically specifically call out Leland as taking that about as far as they'll let him.)

Though to make it clear, this isn't simply them setting down terms and expecting the vampires to deal with them. Jenna will make it clear, though, that those are points that they won't be budging on. If the vampires want to work out some sort of mutual aid agreement, they can -- like werewolves can help out wherever they can with spirits (though they will point out that stuff like the Strix is really beyond their experiences and all they can do is offer the same advice they'd offer about anything else), and vampires can offer to help out with... I dunno. I mean, we can make a note to play it out next time we come back to this continuity, or you could actually sign up/log in and we can hammer things out here.
